Children's murals

 

For centuries, wall decorations such as murals have been a popular form of art, from the prehistoric paintings on the Caves of Lascaux to
Roman frescos. Murals can vary from abstract to trompe l’oeil, the French term, meaning to ‘fool’ or ‘trick the eye’.
 
Trompe l’oeil magically transforms through illusion using light and shadow to give the impression of depth or distance. Using ingenious
techniques you can turn wooden floors into splendid marble expanses or the bottom of the ocean, adorn plain walls with neo-classical
mouldings or a coral reef, create sumptuous Tuscan art or a children's wonderland. Using the art of faux requires experience and
an in-depth knowledge of materials and tools to ensure a lasting and quality finish.
 
A professionally painted mural can completely transform the atmosphere and character of an interior. A mural can take anything from

This mural takes us to the African savannah. The brief was for a total environment encompassing this childrens' bedroom,

from wildlife to water holes. The shapes and obstacles of the room have been incorporated into the design.
