Polished Plaster

 

Venetian polished plaster is a decorative surface finish originating from Italy using age-old techniques derived from the Renaissance period.  It is also referred to as Stucco, Marmorino and Spatolato.

 

Polished plaster wall finishes provide faux stone and marble-like surfaces.  This unique art of making plaster appear translucent, burnished and layered, offers unlimited opportunities to create contrasting and unique interiors.

The distinguishing features of polished plaster help to define a room’s atmosphere and create a symphony of colour, light and texture, through diversity of tone, patina and colouration.

 

It is often used in sophisticated environments, such as reception areas, offices, villas, bathrooms (as an alternative to marble and ceramic tiles), by by architects, interior designers and private home owners to handcraft exceptional contemporary or classical wall finishes.

Marmorino polished plaster has a high sheen with a lot of depth and a glossy finish, reflecting the light very well in this dining area.

Contrasting colours of off-white and orange Veneziano have been used here.
